Role of the Courts

The Courts have a critical role to play in preserving our Republic. The recent Presidential election was all the more important knowing that the new President would appoint a Supreme Court Judge to replace Justice Antonin Scalia. Justice Scalia was admired for his consistent defense of our Constitution and strict adherence to the original intentions of our Founding Fathers. Justice Scalia and Justice Gorsuch, who was appointed by President Trump, would both be described as "originalists" or "strict constructionists". They rejected the concept that our Constitution was a "living" document subject to change by the whim of the court.

While practicing law for over 30 years I have met many judges. The best of them maintained their objectivity while ruling with sound reasoning but always with respect for our Constitution. I intend to be such a Judge, devoted to justice and guided by the wisdom of our founding fathers.
